Stay tuned…I’m Joseph Lang — a data analytics professional, self-taught Python developer, FAA-licensed drone pilot, and all-around builder based in Charlotte, NC. I’m the kind of person who learns something needs to exist and then teaches himself how to build it.
My day job is as a PV Performance Analyst at National Renewable Energy Corporation (NARENCO), where I monitor utility-scale solar farms and build the Python tools that keep our O&M team running efficiently. Outside of that I take on freelance development work, fly commercially under my FAA Part 107 certificate, and spend time in the garage.
I hold an MBA in Quantitative Methods of Business from Queen’s University of Charlotte, sharpening the bridge between the technical work I love and the business strategy behind it.

At NARENCO I monitor and analyse solar farm performance at scale, and build the Python tools that surface the right numbers at the right time. I’m comfortable at every layer — from raw API ingestion to a polished executive dashboard.
From a full business-management platform built as a freelance engagement for a construction company to solar monitoring software running daily in a control center — I build Python applications that solve real operational problems. If a workflow is manual and repetitive, I’ll build something that handles it.
Lang’s Eye View is my aerial photography and cinematography side. I hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for commercial operations. I shoot landscapes, real estate, events — anywhere a bird’s-eye view changes the story.
When I’m not in front of a screen, I’m in the garage. An avid gearhead with a passion for wrenching and custom builds — this section of the site is in the works. Check back.
Open to data analytics roles, Python development contracts, drone work, or just a good conversation.
